Prosecutor Hassan Abbas on Tuesday said-in his final arguments in the murder case of Noor Muqaddam daughter of former diplomat Shaukat Muqaddam that digital video-recording and Match the records of cell phone calls used by the accused.
He said that although there was no eyewitness to the murder of Noor Muqaddam all the evidence found at the scene was sufficient to prove the guilt of the accused in this case.
He said that all accused were equally involved in the murder of Noor Muqaddam as they not only tried to hide the facts but also did not inform the police about it to save Zahir Jaffar the main accused in the case.
The main accused in the case Zahir Jaffarruhas been charged under provisions of murder and rape & kidnapping while the parents of the main accused have been charged with criminal offenses & concealment of facts.
Under Pakistan penal code murder and rape are punishable by death while kidnapping is punishable by life imprisonment.
The public prosecutor said that Zahir Jaffar the main accused in case had telephoned his father Zakir Jaffar on July 20, 2021 at about 7:30 pm on the day after the murder of Noor Muqaddam & informed him about incident. That he has killed Noor Muqaddam.
He said that after this call, co accused Zakir Jaffar called the owner of the therapy center and instructed the employees of the therapy works to reach the accident site.
Hassan Abbas said that after the murder of Noor Muqaddam Zakir Jaffar & his wife Ismat Adam Ji co accused Tahir Zahoor and there is a record of calls made with domestic workers.
He said that when the employees of Therapy Works reached the spot & tried to catch the main accused Zahir Jaffar, the accused attacked Amjad, an employee of Therapy Works with a knife & injured him.
He said that after incident, when the injured Amjad was taken to a private hospital for treatment hospital staff said that since it was a police case, they could not treat Amjad.
Giving further arguments Hassan Abbas said that even after reaching the government hospital the truth was not told there & the police were not informed but the hospital staff was told that Amjad was injured in a traffic accident.
He said that the employees of Therapy Works had informed the owner of the therapy center about the incident after which they filed a petition against the main accused in the case Zahir Jaffar, for assaulting his employee Amjad. I had submitted.
The public prosecutor said that the body of Noor Muqaddam was brought around 10:30 pm on the night of the incident and his head was decapitated.
He said the cause of death in the medical report was the severance of the head from the torso.
Hassan Abbas said that there were also marks of wounds on the body of the victim which show that the accused Zahir Jaffer had also tortured Noor Muqaddam before killing him.
He said that traces of Noor Muqaddam blood have also been found on the iron mecca recovered by the police from the accident site.
The public prosecutor said that the victim had jumped from the first floor of Zahir Jaffar house before the murder while the main accused also chased her grabbed her and forcibly took her inside the house.
housemaids were there too and if they wanted they could have saved Noor Muqaddam life or at least informed the police but they did not he said.
The public prosecutor said that the position taken by the lawyers of accused was that on the day of the incident, the victim had called a drug party to which she had invited her friends.
He said Even if this position of his is accepted for a moment then apparently there are eight CCTV cameras installed in Jaffar house but only the employees of the therapy center can be seen in the recording of these cameras.
Hassan Abbas said that the prosecution has tried to satisfy the court by giving arguments on every aspect of the case.
Addressing Judge Ata Rabbani of the court hearing the case he said that every member of the society was looking at him and therefore the court should punish all the accused in accordance with the law. Prove it
Basharat-ullah Khan counsel for co accused Zakir Jaffar in the case said that every case is important for the court.
He said that an attempt was made to influence the court proceedings by launching a campaign on social media about the case which was not acceptable in any way.
Lawyers for the other defendants in case also gave counter arguments, after which the court reserved judgment in the Noor Muqaddam murder case which is expected to be heard on February 24.
