Energy saving: Decision to close markets at 8:30 pm wedding hall ( marriage lawn) at 10 pm.
Federal Minister Khawaja Asif informed about the decisions of the cabinet meeting & said that from 1 July. Non standard electric fans will not be made in factories.
Federal cabinet Govmt of Pakistan on Tuesday approved immediate measures to save energy.
Saying markets (bazar) across the country will close at 8:30 pm & marriage halls at 10 pm.
Mega voltage electric fans also banned. No name list issued as yet ban fans company. The Federal Cabinet: Meeting was held today under the chairmanship of PM Shehbaz Sharif. After which Defense Minister Khawaja Asif along with Federal Ministers Maryam Aurangzeb. Sherry Rehman Khurram Dastgir & Maulana Abdul Wasim informed about the decisions of the media in a press conference.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif also said that energy saving reforms are being implemented across the country. The maintenance cost of cement. brick & glass buildings is high. So building codes are being introduced.
He said that from July 1 non standard electric fans will not be made in factories.
Banned higher wantage Electric fans. He did not specify substandard fans. But in the past government officials have termed fans that use more electricity as substandard.
The federal minister also said that after 1 February 2023 old bulbs will not be manufactured. While LED bulbs & standard electrical appliances will-be used in government institutions.
Khawaja Asif also said that the Prime Minister has directed that the unnecessary use of electrical equipment should be stopped in all government offices.
30% reduction in electricity consumption in institutions will-be brought. Measures to save energy will save 62 billion rupees.
The federal minister said that the markets close early all over the world. But according to him. The markets in Pakistan remain open till midnight.
We use energy instead of taking advantage of natural light. Today the cabinet meeting was held in sunlight. No light was lit during the cabinet meeting.

He further informed that only fans consume 12 thousand megawatts of electricity in the country.
According to Khawaja Asif motorcycles spend 3 billion dollars in petrol annually. Electric bikes are being introduced in the country the use of which will be promoted.
He assured that dealer financing would be provided for migration to e-bikes. & an awareness campaign would be conducted on radio channels in this regard.
He says that e-bikes can be charged at home.
He also said: 29 thousand megawatts of electricity is used in summer. In winter. The same consumption comes to 12 thousand MW. We are following the program to gradually reduce the consumption of electricity.
Minister added that conical baffles would be installed in the geyser within a year to conserve gas.
This device traps heat and uses less gas which will save Rs 92 billion.
According to Khawaja Asif: Street lights will not be used 100% but as needed.
He said that awareness campaign regarding energy saving will-be conducted through print. electronic and social media. Pemra will ensure energy saving campaign through private TV channels & radio channels. while full awareness campaign regarding water saving will be conducted. Actions will-be taken.
He said that the committee will make final recommendations on the proposal to work from home.
He said that a briefing was also given to President Mr. Dr. Arif Alvi regarding the Energy Saving Program. Who has assured support.
He (President Arif Alvi) is requested to play a role in the 1st two provinces which he promised us.
He also said that he has spoken to all the provinces and stakeholders. We have taken everyone stand. This will be a permanent feature, which is for the betterment of the country.
On this occasion. Federal Minister for Environmental Change Sherry Rehman also said that efficient use of energy is very important for the economy as well as for the protection of the environment.

He also said that the measures taken by the present government to save energy will prove to have lasting results. The situation will-be improved by closing the markets early. Using alternative sources of energy and work from home policy. It will help to make.
He also said that people in Pakistan need to change their habits. Savings in energy consumption will reduce the import bill. Which will benefit the economy.
