 In the Geneva conference: The announcement of more than ten billion dollars in aid for Pakistan. Saudi Arabia also promised one billion dollars.

Federal Minister for Information of Pakistan Maryam Aurangzeb has said that more than eight billion dollars. Have been announced for Pakistan in the 1st plenary session of the 1st day of the Geneva Conference. Apart from Islamic Development Bank World Bank and Asian Development Bank France. European Union Japan & Germany  are among the countries that have announced aid to Pakistan.

Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Defense Mushahid Hussain Syed has also said: That no service chief in Army Navy & Air Force should get extension.

PM Shehbaz Sharif speech at the Geneva conference:

Grateful for the cooperation of the international community. Transparency is the 1st priority.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif along with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres jointly hosted the 1st Geneva conference. On flood relief in Pakistan & also addressed a joint news conference after the conference.

PM Shahbaz Sharif also says that the estimated cost of rehabilitation of flood affected areas is more than 30 billion dollars & Pakistan needs 16.3 billion dollars for immediate reconstruction & rehabilitation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif while addressing the ceremony said that the floods have caused massive destruction in Pakistan. Along with the Secretary General visited the flood affected areas the people of Pakistan will always remember the support of the United Nations Secretary General.

He also said that he is grateful for the support of the international community. Pakistan will-not forget the countries that helped in difficult times.

He said that the flood caused serious damage to agriculture. Which led to food shortages. The restoration of the country's economy with reconstruction is a big challenge for us. The damage caused by the flood is estimated to be more than 30 billion dollars. Which is the GD of Pakistan. P is 8%.

PM Shahbaz Sharif said that 33 million people were affected by the recent floods in Pakistan. While the economy was badly affected by the destruction of infrastructure. the floods damaged houses. Educational institutions & the agriculture sector.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that there is still flood water in many areas of Sindh & Balochistan. The flood victims have to be rehabilitated & given a better future. A framework has-been prepared for the rehabilitation & reconstruction of the flood victims. Work on the framework $16.3 billion is needed to do this.


In response to a journalist question he said that he would ensure the transparency of the funds received.

It should be noted that many countries have announced aid for Pakistan in this conference. The Islamic Development Bank has promised to give 4.2 billion dollars in three years. While the World Bank has announced 2 billion dollars.


United Nations General Secretary Antonio Guterres: The international community should fully support Pakistan.

United Nations General Secretary Antonio Guterres & PM Shehbaz Sharif have addressed a joint news conference at the Geneva Conference and on this occasion. the journalists questions were answered.


The Secretary General of the United Nations said in his address: 

That it is the responsibility of the international community to fully support Pakistan.

According to him. There is a need for investment to boost the immunity of the people of Pakistan. Which has-been severely affected by climate change.

He said that he has personally witnessed the devastation caused by floods in Pakistan. According to him, if Pakistan has-been affected by climate change today. Some other country may be affected tomorrow.


Antonio Guterres said:

 that I myself went to Pakistan and visited the flood affected areas. There has-been a large scale destruction due to floods in Pakistan. Emergency measures are needed for reconstruction in the flood-affected areas. The United Nations Secretary General also said that he was heartbroken to see the condition of flood affected areas in Pakistan. But he was surprised to see the spirit of the Pakistani people even in difficult situations.

Geneva Conference: Only two banks promise to give more than 6 billion dollars to Pakistan.

Federal Minister of Information Maryam Aurangzeb has more said that the international community & partners in the Geneva Conference are showing their commitment to help the flood victims in Pakistan.

In one of her tweets:  Maryam Aurangzeb has also said that the Islamic Development Bank IDB has promised to give 4.2 billion dollars in the Geneva conference.
