ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has said in response to India's recent proposal to demilitarize the Siachen Glacier that Pakistan is committed to improving relations with India and engaging in meaningful, constructive, fruitful and sustainable dialogue.


"We have repeatedly said that India has a responsibility to take the necessary steps to create a conducive environment for constructive dialogue," a Foreign Office spokesman said during a weekly media briefing.


Recently, Indian Army Chief General Manoj Makand Nirvana had said that India was not opposed to a possible non-military operation of the Siachen Glacier, provided that Pakistan accepted the 110 km Actual Ground Position Line (AGPL) which separates India and Pakistan. Is.


The Foreign Office spokesman said that Pakistan has a policy which is based on the principle of friendly neighborliness.


"We want peace and friendship in our neighborhood, we want good relations with all, including India," he said.
